Beaches have had rip tides, undertows, sharks, rays, jelly fish, and all hosts of hazards since forever. drownings aren’t new. quit trying to keep everyone safe from everything that may harm them. That’s not how this works.

I totally get what you’re saying but I can vouch for the fact that the beach here in Pensacola is very, very different than I’ve ever experienced it and I come out here often. I’ve never seen it as rough, waves consistently as high as they have been this week, and the current as strong and consistent as it has been this week. It’s not safe at all right now.

Maybe people need a refresher course on what the flag colors mean. This could easily happen in under a few minutes during checkin for most places.

They should devise some system to let people know the water conditions. Like colored flags or something.
