Sodium absolutely affects BP, esp as you get older and at 48, you are “older.” I’ve seen patients get hospitalized after a crawfish boil. Eat better, exercise, and take meds if it’s still high. If you’ve never been on meds before, it’s reasonable to try lifestyle changes if it’s not extremely high. But if it’s over like 160/100 you probably need meds right away.
