Vehicle emissions are a red herring. The biggest emitter is logistics transportation of goods on ship across oceans.
By all means, go electric. Just don’t mandate everyone drive one as we currently do not have the infrastructure for that much electricity. 20% of electric car users go back to ICE because they can’t charge them for their lifestyle.
