The police officer part bothered me as well. Guess he was really in the right place right time but that’s not how these things work in real life. They could have just said he was something more than just a LEO and it might have worked.

Another thing that bugged me is the intelligence of the children seemed to increase to normal adult even missing out on all that schooling and life experience. I get that they tried to make the children especially precocious from the beginning but still.

Weirdly, I also watched this yesterday. It wasn't overly good but I didn’t hate it at all (which I expected to after I had heard it was bad). There were a lot of issues with it obviously, but all in all I enjoyed it well enough. I did like that it was apparently a naturally occurring thing and they were using it as a testing site for medical research. That was cool that ultimately it was an “overall good/for the greater good” kind of thing.
