I am switching from Ed Jones to Vanguard. I do not plan to manage my accounts. I plan to let them manage everything fully. Does anyone use Vanguard this way? If so are you satisfied? Suggestions welcome

Are you set on Vanguard? Seems weird to transfer there without knowing what service you’re going to use and the pros and cons.

Sounds a bit after-the-fact. Why the switch from Jones? Why the switch to Vanguard?

Personally we use a private bank and UBS along with personally managed TDA/Schwab accounts.

If your personal Vanguard account guy is a guru, great. If not, WTF are you doing?

Do these people discuss with you tax advantages, sequence of returns and retirement planning or what? It's just weird because you're usually just indexing over there so why need management?

I let them start managing my 401k in December. I’ll see how they are doing in a few months, but they have blown my performance away so far and I don’t have to worry about anything.

I used their advisory services for a year and it was awful. Their portfolio is far too weighted towards bonds and international stocks. You would be better putting your money in an S&P 500 index fund.
