Once Jefferson started playing the offense was horrific

scoring 42 and 41 against arky and UGA were fools gold due to defense and special teams. The offense was completely anemic for long stretches of those games

However, the accomplishments of that team should have them extremely high on this list

It really started before Jefferson became the #1 QB. Lee was TERRIBLE vs. Alabama and I don't think I've ever seen a QB so petrified of contact in a game. LSU doesn't win without Jefferson at QB that night. His running ability at least gave LSU enough to get 9 points. Overall though the offense was mostly fool's gold that finally got fully exposed in the championship game.

STILL, the overall resume that season speaks for itself.

LSU beat the Pac 12 and Rose Bowl champ by two TDs.

They went ON THE ROAD and blew out the eventual Big East champ, WVU, who won the Orange Bowl 70-33.

They went ON THE ROAD and won the most recent regular season "Game of the Century". Beating #2 Alabama.

They blew out #3 Arkansas to end the season. Blew out the SECE champ in the SECCG

Outside of the Alabama game they beat the rest of the SEC by an AVERAGE of 30 ppg

Yet, the 2018 Alabama team is ranked #3 on the list. A team whose non-conf. schedule featured Louisville (2-10); ULL; Arkansas St. and The Citadel (FCS). It took somewhat of a collapse by UGA for Alabama to win the SECCG and then they were destroyed by Clemson in the title game. I'm not saying that Alabama teams wasn't really good. But to have them #3 on the list and 2011 not even ranked in the to 50 is BEYOND ridiculous. Whoever wrote this piece should not be allowed to cover college football again...ever
