In my limited experience, the Mac laptops seem to last longer and perform better over time than a similar PC laptop.

This is 100% anecdotal and not factual.

The only factual piece of this is if you use an ancient laptop with a mechanical hard drive and old versions of MacOS. Windows 10 does perform slowly with a spinning disk, so does recent versions of MacOS, but it still does better than windows.

A W10 laptop with 8-16gb of RAM and an SSD will live just as long and healthy of a life as an Apple Device.

In the end, both operating systems are great. Just use what you like and quit being that someone else likes the other

I was curious about this and there are academic research papers written about this subject. You can find this subject on Google Scholar or Web of Science if you have access through a University. The most recent paper I found was from 2016, which may predate new hard drive tech. In terms of useful life-cycle Mac outlasts the PC by 22 months on average. Most of which in this paper was attributed to the varying hardware found in PCs, particularly on the low end of the market. If you've got a higher-end PC machine it probably doesn't matter.

If computer police broke down my door and insisted I use a PC machine I'd have no problem with it. I don't know where you formed the notion I was apeing for Mac stuff.
