The military used to not place emphasis on the different backgrounds of service members. That’s what brought everyone together at the end.
Now they’re gonna cater to people’s backstories and how much more special they are than people of other backgrounds.

It WAS one of the only places where your background didn't matter. A black NCO could light up a soup sandwich white private under the supervision of a female Puerto Rican office and nobody gave a shite. Being competent was the only thing that mattered.
