And in the long run they're hurting their ability to be employed once all this ends.

Back when the UE enhancement was 600 a week it made a lot of sense to not aggressively search for work if you had a low paying job. Now that it is 300 weekly and the light at the end of the tunnel is nearing you'd be a fool to not be looking for something.

I worked in UI for a while.

The average reading level of a UI filer is 8th grade (and I think that needs to be re-evaluated, needs to be lowered))

Most UI people are regulars, they don't plan for anything except work enough to qualify for UI. They don't care about next month, its all about today.

Most of these people don’t think into the future farther than tomorrow. That’s part of the reason they are in the lowest paying jobs.
