Any of you refuse to hit your driver? If so...

What did you choose in its place?

When I’m not hitting my driver well I usually hit my 3 hybrid. Can get it out there between 230-240 off the tee so it’s really like a 5 wood. Sometimes I go 3 wood but not as consistent with it as the hybrid.

I think i’ve hit them all, of the big brands that is.

Just a 3 wood. Driver really is one of the least necessary clubs in your bag. Most of the courses around here have par 4s short enough to go 3w > 7i or less. If a good 3 wood leaves me any further than around 160-170 i'll pull the driver, in try hard mode of course.

If you can’t hit your driver, go see a golf pro. I’ve never seen one of the “I can’t hit my driver” people score well consistently

I used to go driving iron off the tee, until I got properly fitted for a driver/wood

Taylor made SLDR mini driver. It’s as easy to hit as my 3 wood but goes almost as far as my driver. I am already pretty long plus I live in Colorado so I don’t really need a driver at most courses

Oh there’s no doubt it effects consistency. That’s what drives me insane. I go from birdie to bogey that fast. I’m not talking small misses, i’m talking OB. My misses are strait pull left, no draw, just flat pulled. I’ve been fitted multiple times and i hit it fine on the range and in the shop.

That's because on the range and in the shop, because there are no consequences, you start your downswing with a weight shift to the left side and rotate the right side of the body to the target faster. That pull comes from pulling the arms down hard while your weight remains on the right foot. (assume you're right-handed).

That makes a lot of sense...

This is a thought and not a reality, but make the right hip get to the ball before the club does.

Are you winning tour events?

If you truly go birdie to bogey and your a decent golfer. The pull is from your right side coming through very strong. Or you open up your left side and you just pull the club left if you are a right hander.
Do this. Set up whatever way you want to. Find your target down the fairway and swing to the target. Do not pull to your left shoulder. If you are trying to draw the ball and you are pulling it aim up the right side or right of your target and swing to the target up the fairway.
