re: Trump DOJ secretly seized journalists' phone records in 2017 to find leakers

I can’t get thru Wapo’s paywall, nor am I paying WAPO. Curious for those of you who can:

Did they seize records or actually listen to the calls? Obama actually listened to James Rosen’s phone calls and read his emails. Sheryl Atkinson too.

I have a problem with both, but way more of a problem is the content was observed.

My problem with it is a 4A Problem. Journalists don’t have any greater 4A protections than anyone. It pisses me off that they think they do.

Also - Why are we just finding out about this now? Makes me wonder if it’s even accurate. This is WAPO. Warrantless wiretapping is despicable, even if the tapped are despicable WAPO people. Seems like they would have gotten way more mileage from this in 2017. I mean If you could hear it about their screeching about everything else.
