As long as people continue to vote based solely on the R or D next to the name and refuse to hold their reps accountable, this is what you get.

There is no intellectual foundation to modern Republicans, especially in Louisiana. In fact, they are brazenly anti-intellectual.
Responsible fiscal conservatism is broadly supported by republicans and democrats alike, when it is practiced for the good of the taxpayers in general. However, wanting to pretend to be a fiscal conservative just to troll the libs is seen as the farce that it is.
Today's Trump Republican party is all about trolling. It's empty of ideas.
