Well, yea. shite isn't free. I think every club on campus has dues of some sort.

But with fraternity dues, at least you are getting something for your money.

The Greek system gets a lot of grief on this site, but it's really nothing more than a co-op. A group of like-minded people pooling their money for housing, food and social activities. Nothing more.
