I can debunk the “the bridge ruined a nice area” argument in two seconds:
Drive to the other side of Claiborne between the interstate and Carrollton. It’s a complete shite hole. The bridge didn’t ruin the area, the inhabitants ruined the area. The bridge was built so normal folk could bypass the inhabitants.

There are a lot of residents that are more concerned about the removal than the current impact.
Developers need to quit trying to "help" these neighborhoods.
