How many times do you think police use the knee to the neck or back to control a criminal per day in this country? Hundreds? Thousands? Haven't they been using it for a while? If so, it must be effective. But a handful of people, who resisted arrest or fail to comply with police commands, die while the police are using this successful subduing technique and now they should stop using it? First, those who die in this scenario are at the most fault. Second, I don't think it is a good idea to stop a successful technique because a couple of noncompliant criminals die. I'm more concerned with the LEO's safety when dealing with these people.

I mean ill support the use if its justified during a violent struggle, but did you watch that video? its a dude in handcuffs totally subdued wiggling on the ground.

non-compliance isn't a death sentence. instinctively struggling to breath isn't resisting arrest. they debated the recovery position and decided against it.

also its not just now they shouldve stopped using it, they shouldve decreased its use it when they learned it was dangerous decades ago. just because its effective doesn't justify it, hell shooting would be even more effective, why would you bother with something less effective after all?
