I quit cold turkey once.
I'm already a bit of a depressive person, but the lack of will to live I felt after quitting caffeine was unbearable. I never understood true depression until that point. I was irritable and anxious, I had headaches, and I was foggy. But I really can't explain the depression I felt.
I jumped back on and then a few months later tried to wean off. Got off of it for 3-4 months, had a cup one morning and finished all my schoolwork for a week in advance of due dates and realized that I was hooked for the long haul.
It affects everyone differently.
