His soon to be step-dad was bought out of his contract at UMass. He was not wanted back. He brought 7 players to UMass from the HS in CT. where he was previously the HC. UMass hired him to get all of those kids including Mitchell. It created a lot of issues for the current HC at UMass. Half of his team all played together in HS. Now they are all transferring. UMass was a .500 team during Mitchell's 2 years there despite having plenty of talent.
