Eh, cop doesn't know she's acting in self defense. He sees the following:
A) Woman (Pink) walking up to him peacefully.
B) Another woman coming up to pink
C) She also has a knife and is now attacking pink

In that case, a cop concludes that there is an innocent person being attacked by another person using a deadly weapon. I don't understand why anyone would expect anything short of deadly force in return to protect the life of another.
