Hawaii could not come close to being self-sufficient. Their entire economy relies on its relationship with the united states and the US military. Their population is largely poor and undereducated outside of Honolulu, and there is no industry to speak of.

Pineapples and farming are pretty big out there. The country’s largest farm is actually in Hawaii.
