Do you not want to reinstall programs, or are you running programs that won't work with Windows 10?
Because upgrading from 7 to 10 is non-destructive, so there's nothing stopping you from just popping that drive (or a clone of it) into a newer computer. With that said, if your computer is so old that it legit can't run Windows 10, I'm surprised you can get the thing to boot at all.
