I agree. It takes a lot more thought to plan out the story. I also think it's funny that in the Back to the Future version of time travel, one huge event only makes minor changes to reality.

George McFly isn't important on the world stage. He's just a popular author within a certain genre.
The world wouldn't be all that different if Tom Clancy or Vince Flynn never took up writing - only their immediate family would be affected.
