I realized it during Katrina.

Well to be truthful Louisiana’s problems after Katrina dwarfed Mississippi’s problems. Katrina came and went on the Mississippi Coast and they could survey damage and begin repairing the day after. In Louisiana’s case there were 5 to 6 times the number of people effected by Katrina compared to Mississippi.

Then there were over 50 breaches to the Levees in N.O. which had to be repaired along with the pumping stations in order to pump out the water. This took months and was something Mississippi did not have to deal with and they were dealing with Gulfport, Biloxi and the coast not a metro area of 1.3 million.

Comparing the problems Mississippi had vs Louisiana’s problems is naive. It also ignores the fact that Louisiana had Hurricane Rita batter SW Louisiana just a month after Katrina hit SE Louisiana.

I know our stupid Governor’s are what they are but the rebuild difference between Mississippi to what Louisiana faced is gigantic. There is no comparison.

No, Mississippi got off their butt and went to work. Louisiana sat on their butt and waited for government handouts.
