I don’t get the nomenclature change here.

Seems fairly self explanatory to me.

Ok, sorry to go back to this thread but, there are so many threads on this topic, I thought it better to share it here. Its from Medium.com and does a good job of explaining what we do know and what we don't know, with links. Quote;

Things we know we know

Since late 2017, we know that elements of the national media, political office holders, and even the Department of Defense, have publicly acknowledged that UAP, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, is a real thing. We know that three striking videos from the U.S. Navy are the real deal, that the Senate Intelligence Committee is looking into the issue, and the Office of Naval Intelligence is heading up a Task Force. People are talking.
We know that we don’t make these astonishing craft that can run rings around our high technology aircraft and seem awfully interested in our nuclear capabilities. We think we know that these devices are also not made by Russia, China or another conventional player.

Known Unknowns

Things we know that we don’t know
We know that the world has not yet, despite new evidence, been convinced that these UAP are some kind of exotic technology or, at the every least, some kind of representation of non-human intelligence. We know that we don’t really know what they are, or even if they are all one thing.
Although we know that the government knows more than we do, we don’t know how much they know or what they have been doing with this information for over seven decades.
We know that we do not know definitively that there is crash wreckage that has been retrieved. We do know that the New York Times has suggested there is. We do know that the Roswell case appears strong based on a bedrock of clear, on-the-record witness testimony from military men and women who were there that we have had crash wreckage since 1947. We don’t know why it’s really been kept Above Top Secret all this time.
We know there appear to be elements of private enterprise actively working in areas that suggest UAP/UFO reality. We don’t know what they know, what they’re doing about it, or what they think about it.

Unknown Unknowns

Things we don’t know that we don’t know
As Rumsfeld said, it is this latter category that “tend to be the difficult ones.”
By definition, this is the simplest to assess. If we don’t know about something we don’t even know that we don’t know about, well, then, what’s to talk about?
Plenty, if you think about it. There is more official recognition about there being something strange going on than ever before. At the same time, our officials deny (officially, of course) that they know anything at all or that any of the UFO cases are authentic. But, of course, some of them do know a lot.
Have they held it back only to gain advantage over other nations? Have these “Others” told us to say nothing? Who are they? What do they want? Are we safe?
Are there only a few of the Others? Or many? Do they have a plan for us?
Why do they care about our nuclear devices? Have they really been abducting human beings? Have they changed our DNA? Do they want to take over the planet? Or are they here to help? If they are, why don’t they?
What about crop circles? Animal and human mutilation cases? Did the Germans build these during the war? Does a Majestic-12 exist?
Is it all one giant simulation that we’re in? Are they extraterrestrial, from another world, or extradimensional? Are they us? From the future?
Yes, he was right. These answers are definitely going to be the difficult ones.

quote:

The unknown unknowns won’t stay that way forever. Soon, they will become known unknowns. What the world will look like when they become known knowns is, frankly, anybody’s guess.
