In all fairness, Finley is the only one who actually faced good defenses

He had to play Arkansas, Alabama, and A&M

Brennan started against Miss State, Vandy and Missouri

Johnson against Florida and Ole Miss. Ole
Miss was maybe the worst defense in the country last year and Boutte went the frick offZ

I didn't want to say this because I didn't want to start shite as a QB war, but this is 100% true. Nobody wants to talk about that though. Johnson played the worst defenses we played all year and did pretty good, but how much do you have to do when Boutte is running all over everybody? Florida's defense wasnt much better than South Carolina's and Ole Miss was even worse than that. Finley actually had one of the top 3 games against South Carolina last year despite throwing it only 21 times. Had he thrown it 30 times, you're probably looking at 360 pass yards and 4 TDs. Johnson's game vs UF wasn't even in the top 5 games QBs had vs them. It's why I haven't jumped on the Max Johnson bandwagon. I don't dislike any of the QBs, and I'm not crowning any of the QBs either.

I still believe Brennan should start until he plays really bad. Last year I saw a QB that improved every week in Brennan. It's like people completely forget where Burrow was for the vast majority of his first year in 2018. Burrow looked awful until the last few games. I actually go back to watch Brennan's 3 games, but I can't bother to watch most of Burrow's 2018 games.
