A lot of them are also still stuck in the pre-football money times where LSU was one of about 3 power conference schools that gave a shite about baseball.

We aren’t going back to those times. The natural advantages in recruiting that vaulted our football program to the upper tier don’t exist for us in baseball. They belong to Florida, Georgia, and other schools in those states and Texas.

LSU baseball is a more like Notre Dame football. Still able to be in the upper tier, but it takes a lot more work than it used to and it can’t be built on the back of local talent because there just isn’t enough of it.

You mean you need a coach who can squeeze the absolute most out of good not great players in order for teams to be successful? That he should be able to coach them up and not quit on them the moment they struggle on fly ball reads?
