I'm 42 so Platoon and FMJ were the biggest influences on my expectations of the military and combat. Sitting on the other side of it I'd say the second half of FMJ was the closest to Iraq but that's why it's so difficult to name any one as "The Most Realistic". They're going to feel wildly different by conflict and few people have experienced more than one or two of them to accurately judge. I know guys that were in Mogadishu and they say Blackhawk Down. Vietnam era guys say Platoon or FMJ or We Were Soldiers, WW2 guys say Saving Private Ryan. Really no way to tell.

No one says Three Kings though
