Studios are going to keep going to that well and the movie industry quality suffers as a whole because of it

How do you figure?
The movie industry has always done this. When something is hot and making money they pile on until it burns out and then they find the next big thing. The industry doesn't suffer. These big budget blockbusters pay for the Indy films and other pet projects.
Examples;
Westerns and War movies 50s-60s
Rebel movies 70s (Easyrider types)
Big over the top 80s action (Stallone, Arnold, Willis, etc)
Teen dramady's in the 90s (every other movie was one of these)
Vampires 90s-00's (literally 100's of these)
10's-current: Toys (Transformers) and comic books (Marvel/DC).
It's what Hollywood does. Other movies are made, but they saturate the market with what pays and when the well runs dry they move on.
