Forward facing sonar is worst thing to happen to the sport in 100 years. Those of us who.ve spent 1000's of hours on the water learning to read the conditions and get in tuned with what mother nature will giveth for that hour or that day is now completely irrelevant. For those who fish competitively its a must have to even have a chance. I thought this would be more of a deep clear water technology but was proven wrong in many spring events this year. It may mark the end of my competitive days as I refuse to turn my days on the water in to a video game eliminating the skills and gut instincts that have separated the have from the have nots for decades,
Get off my lawn.

Look in to the reactions of many writers in the bassfishing industry. They mirror what I said. Notably Joe Balog who most agree is the foremost authority on the health of the fishing industry. You can find his columns on BassFan. Every poll I've seen on the subject has been decidedly against the use of the technology in the true Professional Tournament ranks. I have no problem with amateur's who fish in jackpots and for sure sacalait guides utilizing the technology. I really think MLF and BASS will look at it closely in the near future.

I can’t say I disagree. I don’t see it as a good thing for fisheries either when fish that would be untouched are getting easily targeted. I guess time will tell

Oh. I could not care less about that decision. I just know it's the greatest tool for fishing that has come out in my lifetime.
