Playin a nobody and scoring like 80 points so everyone can gush about how good their offense is. this seems like a big 12 thing to do.

LSU doesn't run up the score though
how many times the past few years has LSU scored more than 60?

all of those teams are better than chattanooga. and u missed my point. oklahoma seems to have this goal to score like assloads of points. they do it like every year and they have the best offensive stats and then espn talks about how amazing they are.

You can't stop players from scoring...even backups. I remember years ago when Penn St. was beating Tosu 66-0 and they accused Paterno of running up the score and his response was, I can't stop the kids from playing.
Are you telling me, after LSU went up by 30 points, they subbed the to the stands and fell on the ball...that they deliberately tried not to score...don't think so. Don't hate on OU just because LSU couldn't score more points. All players have to play full speed even when you are just running the ball.

all im sayin is that it seems like oklahoma, along with other big 12 schools, seem to do this a lot. and im still not sure what the reason for it is. it seems like anytime i see a score that 60+ points its a big 12 team. and ive noticed oklahoma do it a lot. like last year they scored somethin like 79 on someone.

without taking a side, coaches can call different plays (ie run more instead of airing it out a la spurrier)

You know what, something is still wrong. They substitute and run the ball, yet they threaten to score 70+ points on every single shite team. Tell me why superior programs like LSU/USC/OSU/UF don't score these types of points consistently on shite teams? I think we're in agreement that LSU would kick OU's arse almost every year, so explain that to me.

i cant figure it out either. im not sure how hes subbed for some of his other blowouts. but for this game i think its the competition. this school is terrible. they seem like the ULL of 1AA

stoops does it to make up for losing bowl games

Spurrier used to run it up (throw in the 4th quarter up 50); Florida St. was the worst in the 90s.
True that OU has had crazy scores like when they were declared the greatest team of all time in 2003 and beat one team (I forget) 73-0...or something crazy. I would say, yes, that is excessive. But they did have backups in those games after a considerable margin. You can't tell back-ups not to play. USC used to take out Leinart at halftime but the coaches couldn't tell the players to fall on the ball just because you are up 38-0 if the opponent has an entire half to climb back into it. Plus, I watched that Va-tech game last year...lets not kid ourselves, LSU wasn't doing Va-Tech any favors.
But Stoops does seem to generally have more huge scores than other schools; maybe it's because of the opposition...or maybe it's Jason White throwing a TD pass up 50 points with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter (just remembered that game...what a tool.)

LSU has always done its best to not run up the score. We took a knee against MSU in 2006 before halftime on the 5 to not run up the score. We RARELY put 50 on people, and we'd have no problem doing so if we wanted.

yea, but u cant really compare those 2 situations.
if i didnt hate oklahoma so much i might be interested to see if they would get 100.
o and i see there is a delay. maybe the other team forfeit.

But also doesn't play anyone tough in the out-of-conf schedule.
