The couple that bought our house in Gulf Coast Alabama has taken some great pictures of the hummingbirds at their bottlebrush.

I planted several bottlebrush 3 years ago to see if they would help bring in hummingbirds.

3 weeks ago - no bottlebrush blooms - almost no hummingbirds.

Now - tons of bottlebrush blooms, plenty of hummingbirds.

Not really a surprise, but pretty cool to have it pay off.

Migration is peaking now, lots of cool stuff to see in addition to the hummingbirds. Scarlet Tanagers, Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, Summer Tanagers, Indigo Buntings, Blue Grosbeaks, LOTS of different Warblers.

The freeze killed 6 huge bottle brush I had in the front and back yards.

Put my feeder out 2 weeks ago, still haven't seen one here in Houston.
