You don’t have to like him, but The Duke was a working actor for 50 straight years, and in over 180 movies. There simply isn’t a bigger Hollywood star than John Wayne. There’s a lot I like as much or more than him, and others I think were better actors, but as far as who’s the biggest star of the 20th century ,it seems pretty obvious.
