What are you world travelers thinking the possibility of needing the vaccine to travel internationally will be in the near future?

I work in Africa. Travel through Europe on my way there.

See Iceland thread below.

Since you said near future:

Some countries may allow vaccinated only/proof of recovery for awhile.

Some will add it as an entry option or you can provide a negative PCR or antigen/proof of recovery.

This is likely going to depend on what a particular country's strategy was regarding COVID during the pandemic. Did they ever allow visitors? Etc.

In the not near future, I don't think it will be required.

I know I’m required a current neg test now.

Thank you. Not that I mind getting the vaccine but I probably won’t bother unless it’s required. All of my work is OCONUS so just wondering what your thoughts were on near and long term requirements

My guess would be short term, yes. Long term, no.

Out of nothing but curiosity, what line of work are you in that brings you to Africa?

Ya, I don't see countries who have allowed negative tests to get rid of that option and go to a vaccine only or vaccine prooof of recent recovery regime.

I'll also say since you said you don't have an issue with the vaccine, this is largely academic. By June it's highly likely COVID vaccines will become available whenever you want one, so if you need it later than that it won't be a big deal.

Probably first year or two many countries will require proof of vaccination and then after that they will start opening up to everyone again

I work for a mil contractor on a rotational basis. Normally 60 on 60 off. Covid has screwed up travel so now we’re at 90/90 with a mandatory quarantine when I arrive
