Mrs. Vox thought it was Seth McFarlane, doing a Kermit impression. I thought that if it was Seth sandbagging, he was doing it too hard, since Snail got booted.

As is their custom, there's usually a HUGE name that's the first one to go, likely due to time constraints and the ability to generate buzz.

The only other things we were thrown by with Snail's costume was 1) The thought of it being someone in a wheelchair, and 2) The fact that the Snail head/face were somewhat articulated. That was oddly-technical for a show that features folks who aren't pro singers, so to be able to perform AND work the mechanics of the costume was very perplexing.

No easy task for a mere mortal, but for Muppeteers, it's another day at the office. I assume there was a second person inside working the suit.
