Had a "bucket handle" meniscus tear along with a torn ACL a few years ago. Recovery sucked, it was 7 weeks until I could put weight on the meniscus and it was my right leg so no driving.
Good news is that after 4 months or so I was moving around pretty well and made a complete recovery in the end.
