Celestine Prophecy. New age psychobabble drivel disguised as spiritual revelations. Having trouble making it through Infinite Jest- have stopped and started multiple times. Full disclosure: I liked both The Road and The Nix

Probably describes 90% of us who made it through the thing. And I literally threw it into the ocean from a cruise ship when I finished because of all the effort required and (nope, spoiler). It's become my favorite book, though, and is worth it.

Gravity's Rainbow was even harder for me to finish. That's one I'm not sure was worth the effort, though it had its moments.
