Probably describes 90% of us who made it through the thing. And I literally threw it into the ocean from a cruise ship when I finished because of all the effort required and (nope, spoiler). It's become my favorite book, though, and is worth it.
Gravity's Rainbow was even harder for me to finish. That's one I'm not sure was worth the effort, though it had its moments.
