They took two teams playing in the Big East Tournament off the court and cancelled the rest of the game. The Big Ten basketball tournament and many others were cancelled during that day, as well.
Things might not have changed in golf, but things were changing a mile a minute in the rest of the sports world.
I don't believe that tournament was being completed either way. There would have been too much peer pressure.
