Naah...the urban/rural balance in LA is enough to cause a little bit of a fight. Rural baws in Illinois have absolutely no chance of outvoting Chicago. Some seriously salty farmer boys hanging out in the taverns of 50k person midwestern towns, complaining of the decades of liberal shiz-nit shoved down their throat. I was still up there when Chicago decided the entire state needed to be smoke free indoors, thought there was going to be a mutiny.
I have some friends in Buffalo, NY - and they live a more continuously pissed off existence than I think anyone I've ever met. They get snow + Cuomo + the belief that their entire state is the city that is 400miles away.
