Then why did we shell out money for one of the best AD’s in the country? I definitely don’t think anyone even needs to consider firing Wade at this point, but I’m so tired of losers spouting this loser mindset like LSU didn’t hire Nick Saban in football and Skip Bertman in baseball. We can get elite coaches and have done so before

Nick Saban in football
Saban was advised not to take the LSU job. LSU paid him 3rd highest salary in CFB at the time to come here.

Skip Bertman in baseball
Skip built LSU baseball, not the other way around.

The revisionist history is ridiculous.

You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. Nick Saban was way down the list of options when LSU was searching for a coach, and he was landed on after swinging and missing on multiple other candidates. It was nothing like hiring the Nick Saban people know now, or like hiring a Dabo away from Clemson today. As for Skip, we gave him his first college head coaching job for Christ’s sake. He also was not the household name “Skip Bertman” when we hired him. He built his name recognition as he built the LSU baseball brand.
