Hopefully our game doesn't get canceled this time around
DeRozan might be back in the lineup tonight, but we'll see. His dad just passed away. Still a lot of Spurs out for health/safety protocols, but he's the main one missing/only one out for non-health reasons.
Hope all y'all are well! GSG

“I would take Keldon Johnson over Zion.” - Spurs Reddit

Damn the Spurs have some ugly arse uniforms now. Those colors are awful. The hat looks like it was from 1995. They used to have very clean looking unis with that all black and a little bit of silver. I don’t know who came up with these but they need to be fired and so does the guy that signed off on them too.

We'll agree to disagree. We've wanted these colors on the game unis for a LONG time.

Yeah, that was our logo in '95. Duh

Not knocking SA, I lived there for 3 years and I loved every minute of it. Great little city and I miss it. Just not a fan of the rainbow stripes. Not a fan of some of our Pelicans alternates either. We should have been wearing our Mardis Gras alternates this month but I don’t think we ever did.

Haha isn't so little anymore! Place has exploded, it's incredible. Hopefully we'll keep the Fiesta motif tastefully done like this year--lots of folks know about SA's military heritage (I'm proud of that too, as a USAF vet), but it's such a vibrant city, as you know. Kinda cool to see it finally reflected on a uniform. Think it mostly got fueled by my generation's infatuation with all things retro. Fiesta-themed gear is more popular now than it was when it was our official logo, I think

Not sure what he meant by that little city comment. San Antonio is a big city.
Posted on 2/27/21 at 1:19 pm to Paul Allen
It's weird. Big city, but still "small market." Kinda wears both hats, depending on the discussion. Population has gone nuts basically in my lifetime (I was born in '88). If I recall correctly, this decade we'll pass Philadelphia for 6th largest city in the US. Hell, the area of town I own a house in was nothing but farmland outside the main city when I was a kid. Now it's traffic everywhere. No signs of slowing down, either. Unreal.

my mistake paul
san antonio is now #7 nationally
when I was a kid it was 90th.
oops.

Using city population is silly. San Antonio MSA L is tiny compared to Philadelphia's.

Yeah media market size is king for the NBA, and San Antonio is 31st in the Nielsen media market rankings.
....NOLA’s 50th, right above Memphis

I wasn't making an argument either way. I don't really care
It's interesting when traveling to talk to folks who aren't familiar with SA and have only heard about the city from a small market perspective, yet don't realize how big the place actually is. Neat conversation starter, tbh.

I haven't watched much of the Spurs this year, but as a fan, can you tell me how they've been playing so well this year? I know that DeRozan is playing very well and Alridge has been terrible, but I don't know much more than that.
