Explain your internet situation to me seems to be the biggest utility I need to worry about. I’m also trying to maybe buy some empty land if I can and build on it.
Seems like you are closing in on a place as you asked this question a couple of weeks ago.
Internet - yes, that is your issue if buying rural.
If you are buying/building, that could take a while. In which case Starlink is your answer as it's just now coming to our area. However, you won't be able to order a setup until you actually have an address you can tie it to (it's not mobile, at least not yet anyway). And they are saying there's a 6 month delay from when you order and shipping date.
Without Starlink, you need to check any address you are considering for availability of DSL. Satellite like Hughes, Viasat is literally unusable for WFM. Otherwise you'll be using cell/LTE, in which case you need to be concerned with what kind of cell coverage ATT/Verizon/Tmobile has at your new address. Tmobile Home Internet is only available from certain addresses but if so its unlimited at $50/mo.
Do you like to drink? There are an amazing array of brewpubs, cideries, distilleries and wineries around Winchester.
