Not a Caymus fan either but then again I don't like big fruit bombs. I prefer a more refined wine which is probably why most of what I own is Italian with some French sprinkled in.

But there is a place for fruit bombs right out the bottle. Not always, but many times it’s like Led Zeppelin fans who hate Stone Temple Pilots because they are from the 90’s. Both make great music. (I realize I overuse music analogies)

I think Del Dotto does the best with blending the NAPA bomb and world old refined wine styles, at least for my palette. My only gripe is maybe they release wines too soon.
