Yeah all the Florida boys would always talk about smoking them,,, we would ask them to cook us some an they said they didn’t want to ruin us with muddy mullet.
They are a very oily meat from what I have seen. If nothing else get a fifth of whisky to drink while cooking them an they will be great!!!

Fresh fried mullet is one of my favorite fish.
