It’s honestly not about tonight. It’s an accumulation effect of every clutch minute for the past 2 years. And I like Brandon, but if you all can’t watch the guy and see something is majorly off with his demeanor lately, I don’t know what to say. Getting a guy who can defend and doesn’t hijack key possessions is not a terrible idea tbh. Better to do it now, while he’s at peak value.

So do you think Zion can do it by himself every possession for 48 minutes a game? That everyone else should just clear out and let Zion go? We saw tonight what can happen. Portland started aggressively doubling him and forcing the ball out of his hands. I mean I’m all for doing it as much as is reasonable, but at the end of the day, the NBA today is all about shot creation, mostly for ones self. BI is the only player on the team who can do that consistently other than Zion, and to be honest I’m not sure anyone else even has the potential. So BI doesn’t “hijack” possessions, he’s merely just another option, a highly efficient one at that. We’re talking about a guy who takes most of his shots from mid range or 3 and still has a TS% of 59.5%. His assist numbers continue to rise and his turnover percentages are down sharply from last season as well. You have to have that secondary creator in order to win shite in this league and think BI will develop into one of the very best in the NBA.

Oh, and he shot 46% in the 4th last year, so he’s shown he can take and make big shots. He’s struggling this year no doubt, but I’d wait a while before we completely write the kid off.
