This is a PSA for Soy Boys of the OT and baws with a wife and kids nagging them constantly about the cold:

Our power went out yesterday before 7 am. Entergy outage map showed our neighborhood having power. I called later in the day and used the automated system to try and report the outage. Did this several more times throughout the day.

This morning our map still showed our neighborhood having power so I called again and tried the power emergency option. This got me to a person who said that it showed a down limb had been removed and the power was restored. She was able to get our outage reported.

The rep also told me there have been lots of calls reporting outages in areas that their system showed as normal. If you need to call Entergy, select Option 5 to speak to a person.

Dude, they gave us a warning on top of map/page.

Not a big deal, chill.

Same thing in Htown. Very incorrect outage map with CenterPoint.

4 different neighbors in different parts of the city are wrong

The map accuracy is the least of my concerns as it only gives false hope by showing the line my street connects to as live and mine dead. The line down in the street seems to be a pretty accurate gauge of when power might come back up.

That we haven't seen an Entergy bucket truck in our outings is more concerning though.

That’s partly my point. Entergy thought our power outage issue had been resolved. Call and speak to a human.

Yep. Mine was accurately showing an outage last night and not today. Luckily the Karen’s on Facebook are on it. This is honestly the only time they’ve done any good work.

Your point is wrong. Just because you “online map” isn’t updated with the correct info doesn’t mean their internal systems show the same thing. They know you are out

Yeah but it sure made me feel a lot better when the lady told me that they showed that my power was out and that they do have crews working in my area.

And by crews working in your area she meant some baw behind a switch board waiting to toggle a switch back on...
