Apple just wants the data so they can keep have a slice of the advertising market for themselves.
Google had a big jump since Google AdWords has been around since the dawn of digital advertising. Now Apple is going to harvest this device data for themselves (even if you opt out of sharing your days they can still target you in Apple Search Ads, as one example)
What Apple is really doing is winning the PR battle with confused consumers, so Google will have to shift to the same privacy standards which just hurts them. Smart move by Apple. But neither of them give a shite about our privacy
