I don’t know if this is relevant to the Super Bowl. Not saying it isn’t but I those stunts certainly permanently damaged ESPN’s brand with a lot of viewers. Those were short term ratings gimmicks that were counter productive in the end.
ESPN has a separate issue right now, especially with college football. The product they’re putting out is just soulless and corporate. Makes me worried about the upcoming SEC Contract.

More commenting on the widespread comments here about the erosion of joy in sports, the politics, etc. The Jenner moment was a milestone in all of this in my mind. At that moment ESPN declared they were all in.
