I actually use the cheapy ones like at the grocery store sushi counter way better than the nice ones. I am almost as good on them as I am with regular utensils, but I'm not as good with the nicer/longer disposable ones they use in seated places.

I imagine I'd be bad with the nice reusable ones due to their weight.

Same here. I can grip the food better with wooden chopsticks. If I go to a place that provides the big plastic ones, I'll request a pair of the takeout sticks.
