The sky isn't falling, but it definitely helps people understand why a premier program with elite talent that is usually willing to pay couldn't get its top 2 choices.

Whole lotta downvotes with no one trying to make a case against it

Well your assessment of what happened is wrong on Nielsen for sure. Freeman, maybe that played a factor, we don't know for sure. However, Nielsen was not on LSU that was all Saints. So trying to say O ran them off by being involved is speculation at best on Freeman and flat out wrong with Nielsen by every media/insiders account of the situation.

ETA: I'm not saying O getting involved is a good thing. I'm just telling you why you're getting downvoted

Candidate #1 verbally agreed to the job and then decided he'd rather coach closer to his home.

Candidate #2 wanted the job but was blocked by his contract and HC.

Keep manipulating the facts to try to make yourself feel justified in your blind hate for O. The last time you were this much of arse on this board we ended up fielding the best team in CFB history,

May I make 1 request: don't stop hating when we win the next one, you letting off the gas made O complacent.

Who let Saban leave?
Who failed to bring him back when he quit Miami?
Why couldn't we get Fisher or Herman?

There are more folks involved than the HC.

100% agree

No fricking chance an up and coming DC risks letting O have his fingerprints on the defense

It’s a lose-lose proposition

Anybody that didn’t quietly think “uh oh” when they saw that quote from O hasn’t been paying attention, IMO
