i think you're putting way too much emphasis on the "questionable" status right out of the gate.
if i had to guess, that was being done the week of that game to disguise the fact that he wasn't going to play (lsu knew that) and just leading the opponent on. a game of chess so to speak. and after that week, it was known he was injured so no need to make him questionable.
as far as everything else, who the hell knows other than myles, his family, and whatever lsu staff and dr's are involved. hope he comes out better for all of this.

It wasn't a break or a torn ACL, or anything easily repaired.
It's a soft-tissue injury to his torso, and you require a lot of mobility and movement to throw a pass. "Healing" is subjective, and is likely going to be requiring a lot of pain going forward to get back to where he was before.
He has other options in life, as we all do. Does he want to go through everything, including the pain, to get back on the field?
Does he think if he goes through that, he gets the job back, or is it just to get to "an open competition?"
