Related question(s) that I haven’t seen explored on this issue before: Is there a threshold of public support that the secession movement is targeting? Surely it’s not a 50% + 1 scenario, right?

I read recently that Nikola Sturgeon won’t let the SNP push another Scottish referendum until polling would show 60% support. Of course that is moreso to avoid a repeat of the embarrassment they got last time when the No votes won....but it has me wondering if the Texas secession movement is eyeing something more than a simple majority vote?

I’ve made my skepticism and ultimate opposition to Texit known but that’s not where this question comes from. Just wondering if you guys believe that there should be a broader mandate, etc. amongst the general public. As I see it now, this issue is very divided on a rural/urban dichotomy....and clearly nothing will ever happen without metro DFW, HTX, ATX, and SA on board to some extent
